The titleholders JTEKT Stings continued where they stopped last season in the Japanese men’s volleyball Championship.

The 2020/21 V.League Division 1 Men regular season started with a home victory of the champions JTEKT Stings over the Toray Arrows: 3-1 (14-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-19). Last season’s MVP Yuji Nishida was amazing, pouring in 39 points for the winning side. Yuto Fujinaka added 6 blocks.

Led by Kunihiro Shimizu (19 points) and Ryouhei Iga (71 % reception), the vice-champions Panasonic Panthers downed FC Tokyo in four sets.

Although they had the Pole Bartosz Kurek on a high-level today (29 points, including 6 aces) and having their rivals play without Russian star Dmitriy Muserksiy, the Wolfdogs Nagoya have fallen to the home side of the Suntory Sunbirds (Masashi Kuriyama 24 points): 3-1 (25-19, 32-34, 25-21, 25-21).

Ten teams will play each other four times in the regular season of 36 games.  At the end of the regular season, the top three teams will advance to the playoffs. The best team in the regular season advances directly to the "Finals", while the second-placed and third-placed teams will play in the semifinals.

Boričić re-elected as President of CEV

Probably the most retarded sport federation in the whole of Europe, full of grandpas like Boričić making proft without any useful deeds. Another 4 frutiful years of stealing the clubs money. Taking a look at the CEV website layout says it all. Reply

He will make a much needed change at the setter position, where Piacenza has been outclassed at this year.
