POL M: Historical promotion of Ślepsk to playoffs

Ślepsk Malow Suwałki claimed the last remaining spot in the playoffs of the 2020/21 Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship.


Ślepsk Malow Suwałki beat Stal Nysa by a 3-1 (25-17, 25-20, 19-25, 25-20) in the last round (Round 26) of the 2020/21 Polish Men’s PlusLiga regular season. Thus, the wards of head coach Andrzej Kowal sealed the place among to the top 8 in the charts, entering playoffs already in their second-ever season in the Polish top-flight. Bartłomiej Bołądź led the winning side with 17 points.

It is already known who the rivals of Ślepsk in the quarterfinals will be. Given they are 8th in the charts, they will face top-seed Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, who has secured themselves a victory in the regular season long time ago. The top 8 also includes Jastrzębski Węgiel, Trefl Gdańsk, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, VERVA Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa, PGE Skra Bełchatów, and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. The final order of these teams will be known after the conclusion of the 26th round.

ITA M: Perugia focused on bringing Grbić

He signed a 2-years contract with Zaksa last year. He won Polish Cup with them, not sure what happened so Zaksa lost the championship. They kicked out Lube and Zenit from the Champions League and have a good chance of becoming European champion although Trentino didn't win anything this year so this is their last chance.
He started his coaching career with Perugia so everything is possible... Reply

Russell had one of the best sports surgeons in the world work on him so I expect he will be in great hands. While devastating for any athlete Russell is young enough to have both Paris and Los Angeles in his Olympic future at very high level.
Piacenza is building something very special there and Russell is a perfect type of player and professional to attract others to come there and build around.
