Eczacibasi have improved the winning run in the Turkish women’s league to 17 consecutive wins!

 

Canakkale came to meet the most dangerous side in the league. A team that is leaving the rivals behind, defeated, without any chance for the win.

It was the 17th victory for Eczacibasi in the league. Jordan Larson was the most dominant player with 20 points, while Tijana Boskovic and Guldeniz Onal added 11 each. Gozde Yilmaz scored 10 points.

In Canakkale, Melis Durul scored 16 points.

Women’s Turkish League, round 17:

Eczacibasi – Canakkale 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-16)

Fenerbahce – THY 12:00 CET

Aydin – Galatasaray 13:00 CET

Because the VNL consists of teams that have been invited by the FIVB, rather than have truly qualified for it based on competitive criteria. These teams (e.g. Belgium & Slovenia with the men) would unjustifiedly lose a lot of points on the ranking because they didn't pay the FIVB enough to participate. on the other hand weak teams like South Korea would see their ranking go up just purely by participating.

In its current format the VNL is nothing but a worthless demonstration tournament of friendly games... :-(
