Gian Luca Pasini, the journalist of La Gazzetta dello Sport, updated the “Case of İsmailoğlu” in his blog.

The case of the Bosnian-born female Volleyball player Meliha İsmailoğlu significantly disturbed Turkey national team plans in the recent FIVB International Qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was disqualified by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), who has spoken in regard to this in a written statement for our website, to wear the Turkish jersey in the tournament despite competing for this country for six years prior to this.

Gian Luca Pasini wrote in his blog that Meliha was prevented from playing for Turkey due to the fact that she has already appeared in youth national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This means that she would have to wait for two years before competing for another country. This explains what kind of paperwork error Turkey head coach Giovanni Guidetti may have referred to in his angry tweet.

But, what no one has explained was how did Meliha manage to play for Turkey for the whole six years without previously fulfilling the FIVB’s requirement of a two-year waiting to change the sports nationality? And how will this be resolved – will she keep playing for Turkey or not?

sorry but it seems that FIVB makes a joke. She has played almost six years at different competitions for Turkish National Volleyball Team and there is no any faulty situation announced by CEV or FIVB up to now... now the term is olyimpics and before olyimpic games FIVB made an announcement that she could be banned ... No one believes this....

It seems that FIVB does not want Turkish National volleyball team at olympics ... All other teams are afraid of this team ;)

And if you only wanted to pass along a criticism, you should have left your last sentence out and sounded less insulting.
