A day after the defeat from China, Brazilian receiver Gabi Guimaraes was full of emotions. On her Instagram profile, she wrote this...

Gabi

The pain is huge, the victory didn’t come, but there was no lack of fight. I have no doubt that everyone gave the maximum until the end. I realized my childhood dream; I played my first Olympics alongside such a successful generation and close to my idols. The sport teaches me something every day and I carry a big lesson from all of this. Defeats teach us to be more resilient and make us stronger. Everything is teaching us something! Thank you girls, I am very proud of each of you! Thank you Committee for the trust. I thank all who were involved in this ‘project’. I thanks to the wonderful fans who attended and fought until the end with us, point by point. Thank you, family and friends, you are the basis of everything, the good times, the celebrations, but especially of difficult times like now. I still believe in the power of my dreams and I will continue fighting for them! The beauty of sport is in the fight!” wrote Gabriela Braga Guimaraes.
