ITA vs. IRI
Italy had trouble with Asian side only in the first set while they established domination in the other two and thus, materialized almost perfect 4-1 score in the pool stage.
„Azzurri“ were unstoppable in the attack (46-31) while they were also better, although slightly, in serving (3-0) and blocking (6-5). Ivan Zaytsev with 15 and Osmany Juantorena with 14 points were a driving force of Italy. In Iran, Shahram Mahmoudi had eight points.
Italy will face USA in the semifinals, on August 19 at 18:00 CET.
