Chaumont-vs-Skra
Knack Roeselare (defeated Fenerbahçe SK İstanbul by a 3-1) and PAOK Thessaloniki (beat Ford Store Levoranta Sastamala by the same result) waited eagerly for the denouement in Pool C and Pool D to see if they will find the way to the Playoffs 12 as the two best third-placed teams. Unfortunately for them, all outcomes of these matches did not coincide with what they needed.
The French titleholders Chaumont VB 52 Haute Marne defeated PGE Skra Bełchatów from Poland by a 3-2 in Pool C, nearly dropping a 2-0 lead. Skra took the next two sets which was exactly the much they needed to secure No.2 in the pool and go to the Playoffs 12, while prevailing in the tie-break brought Chaumont a progression to the knockout stage as well, as one of the two best third-placed sides. Mariusz Wlazły scored 25 points (3 aces, 2 kill blocks) for Skra. Stéphen Boyer topped Chaumont with 17 points. Jonas Aguenier added 6 kill blocks, while Canadian Daniel Jansen Vandoorn made 73% attack (8/11, blocked once).
Winning two sets against Berlin Recycling Volleys from Germany guaranteed a Playoffs 12 ticket to Polish Jastrzębski Węgiel as No.2 in Pool D, and they achieved it by getting a 2-1 lead. Later on, BR Volleys made a turnaround, scored a win, and got lucky to have calculations for No.3 across all pools going into their favor.
The Belgian Noliko Maaseik lost to Diatec Trentino from Italy by a 3-1 (25-16, 29-27, 24-26, 26-24) in Pool E to remain the first below the line when it comes to the third-placed teams who earned Playoffs 12 promotion and will replace the Final Four organizer. At the same time, Trentino punched their ticket for the next stage as No.2 in the pool.
These teams secured their Playoffs 12 berths earlier.
