The Polish titleholders Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle gave no chance to the German side VfB Friedrichshafen in the rematch of the 2018 CEV Champions League – Playoffs 6.
Zaksa improved the level of their play comparing to the 1st leg, in which they ended an unbeaten streak of the “Häfler” that consisted of 37 games, and scored a straight-set win on the road, partially 25-19, 25-18, and 25-13.
The Puerto Rican Maurice Torres topped Zaksa with 16 points. Łukasz Wiśniewski served 6 aces, while Belgian Sam Deroo recorded 75% attack (15/20, 2 errors). There were no players who scored double digits in Friedrichshafen.
Thus, Zaksa became the first team to advance to the Final Four in Kazan through the Playoff 6.
