Decisive for the victory were 3 points in the tie-break from 13-14 to 16-14. The best performance showed Aneta Havlickova with 28 points, 2 aces and 1 block. Christina Bauer was also dominant in attack with 69%, 21 points and 3 blocks.
In the first set Yamamay took the lead with 4-1 with the block of Havlickova on Cruz and 9-3 with the block of Bauer on Pavan. The big advantage of 19-10 determined the winner of the set, which was closed with the block of Havelkova on Bosetti.
Busto had a good start in the second set with 5-2 with the Czech duo. Villa evened 10-10 and took the lead of 11-14 with Bosetti and of 13-18 with Pavan. However, Yamamay managed to recover and got to 16-18. That was not enough to reverse the situation and MC-Carnaghi closed the set with the error in the attack of Havlickova 28-30.
In the third set Villa Cortese went ahead with 3-6 with Pavan and Cruz in offense. Yamamay evened 7-7 and then took the lead 11-8. Villa made many errors and Yamamay got to 18-11 and 21-13 thanks to Bauer. Eventually, Havlickova closed the set with 25:15.
In the fourth set MC-Carnaghi went forward first 4-6 and then 9-11. The error of Cruz and the block of Dall’Ora on Pavan tied the score 11-11. Because of the errors of Yamamy, Villa Cortese took the lead of 14-16 and 16-20. Wilson twice provided the advantage for her team (22-23, 23-24) and prolonged the match to the tie-break.
In the fifth set Yamamay immediately went ahead 4-2 with the block of Havlickova on Cruz and 5-2 with the ace of the Dutch player. MC-Carnaghi evened 7:7 with the block of Lucia Bosetti. After the score of 13:13, Busto won the set thanks to Havlickova and the error in the attack of Pavan.
