Especially in the most difficult moments, she was at a really high level. Her team is going to play in the best league of Turkey in the next season.

Your team played in the play-out – do you think there was space to make better results at some moments of the season?

Yes, there is always space to make better results. But we had already played and it passed, so now we can only look into the future. Plus, being ninth is quite a good result for such young club since this team is established in 2014. We had a great coach and club’s management who supported us in our difficult moments. And another secret of our success was our unique atmosphere in the team. We had a great friendship in our team which made us more stronger” says Jana Kulan for WoV.

How would you describe your performances?

This year I had a target and I had to show myself to myself who I am and who I was. Performances are like mobile applications: you need to constantly upgrade, and to catch up or to lead the way. And so, this year I chose to lead the way, and I am still working on upgrading my performance. Thanks to my teammates as well who keep me always highly motivated which took me to the great performances.”

This is your fourth season in Turkey. What are your plans for the next one?

As I said before, I want to go further on my performance and career. Because of this, I am hoping to play in a team that knows me and where I am best at. I love to make the points because the best defense is a strong offense. In coming days I will meet my manager Tunc Afsar to talk about my next season”

Recall that she had amazing performances to save her team in the league.

Since you have played so far in many leagues – which one you consider as the best?

We can’t compare the leagues. So far, I played in Russia. Korea, Azerbaijan, Turkey and China. I love to play in the leagues where there are fans in the stands, good organization, and lots of attacking actions in the game.”

What are your plans for this summer?

“After the season I will go to Slovakia to see my family. After a one-month break, I will slowly start to get ready for the new season.”

If you were not a volleyball player, what would you be?

A consultant for young athletes, their families and coaches. I believe many talented kids are missing from sports because their parents misunderstand the choices these children have and don’t know how to properly handle the situation of balancing the children’s education and sports.”

What would be your message for all young volleyball players?

When you are a young player you see on TV or internet how the high-level athletes have a life. However, I want them to not forget that these athletes had to work so hard to reach that level. So, I would like the young players to not get trapped in this illusion, but rather to give themselves to reach their playing levels and go further. Because they need to carry this game further.”
