Thai clubs were perfect at the start of the 2021 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship held in their country, more precisely in Nakhon Ratchasima.
Both Thai sides, Supreme Chonburi and Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC, were successful at the start of the 2021 Asian Women’s Club Championship. Former successive two-time winners of the tournament, Supreme, overpowered Iran’s titleholders Saipa in Pool B in four sets, partially 25-23, 22-25, 25-13, and 25-13. Wipawee Srithong top-scored the winning side with 15 points.
In the same pool, Altay, the Kazakh giants, got off their campaign in the continental championship to a flying start following a convincing win against Rebisco Philippines.
Led by the star of the team, Chatchu-On Moksri (20 points), the home side completed the perfect record of Thai clubs on an opening day. It easily beat Philippine’s Choco Mucho in Pool A in straight sets.
We remind you that due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, several federations, such as Chinese and Japanese, decided to cancel participation in the event.
