Sesi Bauru watched Sesc Flamengo open the first-round match of the 2021/22 Women’s Superliga with 2-0. When everything seemed to be heading towards a smooth victory of the latter, the hosts reacted and made a full comeback: 3-2 (23-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-11). The confrontation brought Bernardo Rezende ‘Bernardinho’ and Leonaldo Roberley ‘Rubinho’, long-time coaching duo of the Brazil Men’s National Team, now working together as a head coach and assistant, respectively, in the France Men’s National Team, face to face. On the court, American Nia Reed from Sesi Bauru was the highest scorer with 33 points. Adenízia Ferreira set up six blocks.

Dentil Praia Clube and Itambé Minas, the finalists of the South American Club Championship, a few days ago, opened their title-aiming campaigns with a straight-set win each.
