Once again this season, women’s volleyball ‘clássico mineiro’ went in favor of Dentil Praia Clube.
In a classic of the Minas Gerias state, which is the biggest classic of the Brazilian women’s club volleyball at the moment, Dentil Praia Clube beat Itambé Minas in the tie-break. The encounter was valid for Round 16 of the 2021/22 Women’s Superliga. The Uberlândia’s team got 1-0, lost the 2nd and 3rd set, but recovered in the last two to close the game at 3-2 and increase the lead in the standings to as many as 10 points in relation to 2nd-placed Minas (43-33).
The Dominican Jineiry Martínez was the best scorer for Praia with 16 points, including 4 blocks. Vanessa Janke made 71% reception (14 digs, 29% excellent). Interestingly, it was the fifth ‘clássico mineiro’ in the current season and Praia prevailed in all of them.
