At one point of the match Turci just collapsed, clearly disoriented. Globoesporte.globo.com reports that the referee’s blood pressure suddenly dropped and that caused losing consciousness.

The same source reveals that Turci got better after receiving medical attention and that he even wanted to continue the game, still it was decided that he should take a rest and regain his strength. Turci was eventually replaced by Egyptian referee Nasr Shaaban.
