The fans of EMS Taubaté Funvic eagerly expect the return of a player who is projected to lead the club into title battle in the 2017/18 Brazilian men’s volleyball championship Superliga.

Good news has arrived for Taubaté fans – Ricardo Lucarelli started to practice on the court for the first time after undergoing a surgery of his Achilles tendon, which he ruptured in November 2017.

According to the media in Brazil, despite slowly starting to do practice with the ball, an outside hitter is only halfway through recovery as he is still under the physiotherapy.

There is a possibility for Lucarelli to return to playing for the playoffs but it is very slim. The doctors said the rehabilitation process will likely be completely over right before the start of an international season with Brazil national team.
