Mitar Djuric was the player who led PAOK with 25 points, while Metin Toy had 26 points.
“I expected a hard match. We knew we were going to play against a good team, which also plays very good volleyball. I’m happy with the result. Our team did a very good job and we had to fight back in the last set, as things aren’t always easy at this level. So, I must congratulate all on my team because they had a big contribution to this result. Next week I expect a difficult game, maybe similar to this one, but for sure we will fight as we keep doing from the beginning of the season,” says Sergiu Stancu, head coach of PAOK.
“We had a chance to win the match, but we couldn’t handle them in the end. We didn’t manage to do well in the last four points of the tie-break. We played well from the third set until the final part of the match, but we came here to win, so I can’t be pleased with this result,” says Hakan Özkan, head coach of ISTANBUL BBSK.
David Mehic and Dmytro Vietskyi were the top scorers in Vojvodina with 16 points each, while in the Bulgarian side Dmitry Yakovlev had 18 points.
Teodor Salparov, libero of Neftohimic 2010 BURGAS:
“It was a big miss not having Bratoev, but I hope that in the next match the team will play better and maybe continue to the third round. If we can’t, it’s not a problem, we will then try to do our best in CEV Volleyball Cup.”
Dusko Nikolic, head coach of Vojvodina NS Some NOVI SAD:
“We are very happy to win, the high percentage in reception for Lazaro Fundora Travieso after the second set was the key for our success. The good service has also helped for the victory.”
