Papi accepted the invitation of the President of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), Aleksandar Boričić, to became the Chairman of the Athletes Working Group, whose main task is going to be to give advice on regulatory changes and contribute to the development of the volleyball in Europe in general.
Despite the fact he still did not get assignments from the CEV, Papi is aware what is the key problem in the European volleyball that he will try to deal with.
“In recent years, there has been a big problem with international calendars who often overlap the national championships. The players need a longer rest period between the end of the tournaments with the club and the start of the season in the national team as well as the better collaboration when making calendars that are often at risk of overlapping the finals of the European cups,” legendary Italian Men’s NT player said.
