Challenge Cup W: Olympiacos lifted trophy

For the first time in the club history, Olympiacos Piraeus won the Challenge Cup.

Last year they came to the final and lost but today they lifted the trophy. In the first final match which was played in Greece, Olympiacos lost 3-2 from Bursa while today they defeated Turkish team with 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-16) and won the historic trophy.

Stella Christodoulou was the MVP of the championship.

The match in Bursa lasted 112 minutes and 2500 Turkish spectators went to their homes unhappy. Greek champions were better on the block (14) and serve (10) and Saskia Hippe was the best scorer with 17 points. Jana Franziska Poll scored 15 points and Stephanie Niemer 12 points. On the home side, Emiliya Dimitrova was the top with 24 points.
