WCH 2018 M: Belgium start preparations with these 17 players

Belgium men’s volleyball national team will start their preparations for the 2018 FIVB World Championships in Italy and Bulgaria on Monday (July 23).

Belgium national team head coach Andrea Anastasi has selected 17 players to start the 2018 FIVB World Championships campaign.

Preparations of the “Red Dragons” will include friendly matches against Bulgaria (August 24, 25 and 26), The Netherlands (September 1 and 2), Poland (September 5 and 7), and Australia (September 8 and 9).

Belgium will play their first match in the World Champs against Argentina on September 12 (Pool A) in Florence, Italy.

Preliminary list of Belgium:

Setters: Stijn D’Hulst and Matthias Valkiers

Opposites: Gert van Walle, Bram van den Dries, Jolan Cox, and Hendrik Tuerlinckx

Outside hitters: Sam Deroo, Tomas Rousseaux, Kevin Klinkenberg, François Lecat, and Igor Grobelny

Middle blockers: Pieter Verhees, Arno van De Velde, Simon Vandevoorde, and Pieter Coolman

Liberos: Lowie Stuer and Jelle Ribbens.
