Chemik Bydgoszcz announced the hiring of a former Serbia national team player Nikola Kovačević.

The well-known face of a European, but also world volleyball, gained an impressive experience before coming to play Plus Liga for the second time in his career.

A 35-year-old outside hitter spent the last season in the Romanian side CS Arcada Galați which was only one of his numerous seasons which he spent abroad (Greece, Italy, Russia, Poland, China, Germany, Iran, and France).

Nikola Kovačević, a sibling of a current Serbia national team star Uroš Kovačević, is familiar with competing in Plus Liga as he defended the colors of Asseco Resovia Rzeszów in the 2012/13 and won the national title. He also reached gold medals in the championships of Serbia and Montenegro (2202/03) and China (2014/15), as well as in the Romanian super cup last season.

His biggest success was becoming a European champion with Serbia in 2011 when he was named the Best Outside Hitter of the tournament.
