Berlin Recycling Volleys became the winners of the German Super Cup (official name this year: Comdirect Supercup) for the first time ever. In the world’s first competitive match on the LED floor, the team from the country’s capital defeated three-time successive winners VfB Friedrichshafen by a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-15).
The fourth edition of the Super Cup was held at the TUI Arena in Hannover. The interactive sports glass floor ASB LumiFlex provided spectacular visual highlights during the game, making actions such as blocks, aces or attacks even more interesting for spectators through animations. It also enabled the display of statistics between the sets directly on the floor.
American Kyle Ensing top-scored for BR Volleys in the final with 13 points. North Macedonian Nikola Gjorgiev chipped in 11 ponts for Friedrichshafen.
