Grozer revealed in an interview for Tagesspiegel that he’s thinking about a possible return to playing in Germany, more specifically to Berlin Recycling Volleys, at the end of his career. The last time he played in Germany was 10 years ago, when he wore the jersey of Berlin’s fiercest rivals VfB Friedrichshafen.
“Definitely, I would be very happy to play in Berlin someday but that still takes time. I still feel fit and believe that I’m still good enough for the level in Russia and Italy. Berlin has a very good team but, of course, doesn’t have the financial resources like Russian or Italian teams,“ the 35-year-old opposite hitter said.
Berlin President Kaweh Niroomand didn’t remain silent on these words of a German legend.
”I read this with great pleasure. This is a huge recognition for the work that we’ve done here in Berlin in recent years. I also looked briefly at his age and thought that it should be soon,” Niroomand said jokingly and admitted that no team in Germany could pay Grozer the money that he makes in Russia.
