Allianz Milano needed all five sets to overcome Sonepar Padova, taking a 3–2 victory in a tense SuperLega Credem Banca opener for the 5th round. Milano dominated early, winning the first two sets 25-17 and 25-20, but a disputed video-check call in the third set shifted the momentum. Padova capitalized, stealing the third 29-27 and then forcing a tie-break with a strong 25-21 fourth set.

In the decisive set, Milano regrouped quickly, pulling ahead and closing the match 15-10.

The night also marked the highly anticipated return of setter Fernando Kreling, who delivered an impressive performance and earned MVP honors. Ferre Reggers led all scorers with 28 points, while Tatsunori Otsuka added 23. For Padova, Veljko Masulovic (26 points) and Davide Gardini (19) kept their team fighting until the end.
