Cucine Lube Civitanova officially confirmed the departure of Iranian soutside hitter Poriya Hossein Khanzadeh, who informed the club on Tuesday of his decision to leave with immediate effect.

In a brief statement, Cucine Lube Civitanova described the move as a unilateral and unmotivated decision, adding that the club is evaluating all available options to safeguard its position following the player’s sudden exit. The announcement echoes reports from Iranian volleyball circles that Khanzadeh will continue season in Russia.
The departure leaves head coach Giampaolo Medei with one fewer option in the squad, particularly in moments where Khanzadeh’s powerful serve had proved effective. Ironically, Khanzadeh featured in Civitanova’s most recent match on Monday in Leuven, playing the full contest and scoring 10 points, including one block and three aces, in a straight-sets victory.
