Piacenza finished the disappointing season with a home defeat against Trentino. The Reds will not play in the Serie A Playoffs, but the fans are more worried about the future than about the present… Because, this game might have been the last for the famous club.
Piacenza has a lot of financial problems, and no one can be sure if the club will compete in the next season, but the local fans showed that the city still breathes together with the team. At the end of the game, fans rewarded players with standing ovations, big applause and with a message – “This is not the end of the road.”
Hristo Zlatanov could barely hide emotions at the end of the game.
“What have we won? (smile) We somehow managed to play until the end, honoring the league. We are pleased and proud, because we came to this last match, despite all the problems. Fans have been with us along the whole road, from the first game to the last. I want to thank them because they are part of this club and part of this city. I hope we will all continue the adventure with Piacenza, and that we will meet here again in August” said Zlatanov.
