Diatec Trentino officials think ahead. According to Gian Luca Pasini from gazzetta.it, they want to secure signings of two Italian men’s volleyball superstars – Piano and Vettori - for the next season.

Both Matteo Piano and Luca Vettori had a good collaboration with Angelo Lorenzetti, current Trentino coach, when they were all Azimut Modena members. Piano and Vettori still are members of Serie A1 champions but with a different status at current Modena coach Roberto Piazza. While Vettori is constant in the line-up, Piano is not. U.S. import Maxwell Holt and Frenchman Kévin Le Roux have the advantage over him in the line-up.

Vettori’s statement for Modena’s „YouTube“ channel in the final days of 2016 might corroborate the rumor of him leaving Modena. When being asked if he will follow footsteps of Salvatore Rossini and Maxwell Holt who renewed contracts with Modena, Vettori answered: „Right now I am not thinking much about it. I will surely stay in the next year… I’m happy for them and Modena…“

Is this a minor earthquake as an introduction to the big one?
