WCHJ M: China won 15th place after exhausting five sets vs. Mexico

China concluded their World Championship campaign in the 15th position following their won in exhausting five-set encounter against Mexico 3-2 (22-25, 24-26, 25-19, 25-20, 15-9) in the classification match of the FIVB Men's U21 World Championship at “Ataturk Hall” in Izmir, Turkey.

Mexico overruled the first two sets, surprising their opponents after both teams played five- set matches yesterday.

Then China started the third set with another overview to win the third and fourth sets making over another tiebreaker for both teams in 24 hours where the Chinese were more spirited to win and gain the 15th position, leaving the Mexicans in the 16th in their 6th historic participation.

For China they finished in the worst ranking in a total of 12 participations, the latest before was the 13th in 2001 and 2003.

Outstanding outside hitter Zhenghui Liang was his team best scorer with impressive 24 points followed by opposite attacker Tingwei Yan who scored 19 points including 5 in the tiebreak.

The firing Mexican hitter Roberto Rincon set one of the competition best scoring performances with 31 points followed by Julian Duarte 15 points.
