Beijing and reigning champions Shanghai staged a five-set battle in Game 1 of the 2020/21 Chinese Men’s Super League playoff finals held in a bubble in Qinhuangdao. The latter squandered a 2-set deficit and is now close to losing the title: 3-2 (18-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-23, 15-10).
Serbian Uroš Kovačević top-scored Beijing with 23 points. Wang Dongchen set up 4 blocks. Zhang Binglong made 72 % reception (25 digs, 68 % perfect).
