The two meters tall wing spiker Martinez was almost one meter or more above the Algerian block to put her team in an offensive position throughout the match and coming out as her team and match scorer with 14 points. Algeria’s Nawel Hammouche was her team scorer with poor 6 points.

The taller and well built Dominican future stars, led their World No. 8 team ahead to improve their win- loss ratio to 1-1, while the losers (ranked No. 16) dropped to 0-3.

The Algerian improper reception put a paid upon the whole team and disturbed the whole tactics of the team  to allow the Dominicans to put their strategy towards the competition fastest win.

Dominican Republic coach Roberto Pacheco Wagner : We played very well today and need to continue to the second round. My team performed very well. But we still have much to practice our team to beat other team in the second round“.

Dominican captain Elizabeth Martinez: Congratulation to our team .Today we are very happy because our team performance was very well and we will practice for better result in the next match.”
