The victory at Moi International Sports Center meant Kenya took their record to two wins and no defeats, while for Mozambique the loss was their second defeat in two matches.
Earlier on day two of the qualifiers Uganda defeated Seychelles 3-2 (19-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-17, 15-12), while Tunisia shrugged off the stiff challenge from Senegal to earn their second straight victory of the tournament with a hard fought 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15) victory.
On the first day of the volleyball tournament Kenya defeated Uganda in straight sets 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-14), Senegal defeated Seychelles 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-18, 25-22) while Tunisia were better than Mozambique 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-14).
