WL: Korea gets even with Japan, China wins tiebreaker vs. Greece (VIDEO)

After losing to its great Asian rivals on Saturday, Korea had to win in rerun and it did it with style – 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-18).

Now, Korea equalized in the standings with Japan, both collecting 7 points, while France is untouchable at the first place with 15 points.

Choi Hong-Suk contributed with 15 points to a clear win of his team, followed by Song Myung-Geun with 14.

Kunihiro Shimizu was the only player with double digits in Japan – 11 points.

China needed another five-setter to score its second victory in Pool G and maintain its invincibilty.

Visiting team of Greece was on the verge to have the maximum effect at the start, leading 2-1 in sets and in the fourth as well, but couldn’t close the match in a point-by-point play.

Yuan Zhi with 12 and Zhang Chen with 10 points were the best scorers in China.

Rafail Koumentakis had 22 in Greece, followed by Athanasios Protopsaltis with 18.

Slovakia noted its first win in the same pool. It defetaed Mexico in straight sets with 14 from Emanuel Kohút. Daniel Vargas had 13 in Mexico.
