Maaseik
In a derby of a final round of regular stage in Ethias League, third placed Maaseik prevailed over visitors Volley Lindemans Asse-Lennik 3-1 (25-23, 26-24, 21-25, 25-18).
Argentinian Federico Pereyra topped Maaseik’s scorers with 23 points, while Seppe Baetens scored 19 in Asse-Lennik who was obviously exhausted from the second leg of the CEV Champions League Playoffs 12 against Italian Diatec Trentino. Even more, Asse-Lennik played the match versus Maaseik without one of their key players, the Dutch Robin Overbeeke.
Knack Roeselare took advantage of Asse-Lennik’s defeat to claim top spot. They beat Volley Haasrode Leuven 3-0.
The next stage of the Belgian league is the Winners Stage (Top 8).
