Quite unexpectedly, the Poland Women’s Volleyball National Team lost one of its players for an indefinite time.
The reigning Polish women’s champions Grupa Azoty Chemik Police informed about the expiration of the contract of Natalia Mędrzyk, adding at the same time that the player does not intend to sign a new contract either with them or with any other club at the moment. The 29-year-old outside hitter, who was a part of the country’s national team, decided to suspend her sports career.
Mędrzyk played in a few TAURON Liga clubs, but she was the most successful while playing in Chemik, whose jersey she wore in the last four seasons, and during this time, she was involved in 3 triumphs of the Police side in the national championship and Polish Cup each. Mędrzyk was named MVP in one of the Polish Cup conquests of Chemik.
It is not known what the reason for this decision of Mędrzyk was, although in recent months she had serious problems with injuries, which could have prompted her to temporarily rest from volleyball.
