Moustapha M’Baye is the new middle blocker for the current Polish men’s volleyball club championship silver medalists, Jastrzębski Węgiel.
Jastrzębski announced that they’ve signed a contract with the middle blocker M’Baye. The PlusLiga vice-champions decided to take such a step due to the injury of Łukasz Wiśniewski, who won’t be at the club’s disposal until the end of the season due to injury. Therefore, the “Hawks“ started looking for a new player in his position with Polish citizenship due to the PlusLiga limit of three foreigners on the court at the same time. This resulted in the signing of M’Baye.
The 30-year-old player of Senegalese roots defended the colors of Cuprum Lubin in the current season. M’Baye made his debut in PlusLiga in the 2013-14 season. In total, he spent six seasons in the Polish top flight, in which he played 74 matches, scoring 414 points.
