Bizarre injury of a shoulder that German player sustained in hotel’s elevator in Romania left Resovia without substitution for starting opposite hitter Bartosz Kurek.
The season is long, Plusliga title holders will play in three fronts (domestic league, domestic Cup and Champions League) and according to Polish media, the club is considering three options after injufy of Schöps.
Option 1 – to hire new opposite: Since players in Poland can sign contracts until January 22, 2016, Resovia will consider the option of a reinforcement for German. At the moment, there are no class players in the market. Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle have too many opposites in roster, so they might allow one of them, Dominik Witczak, to go to Resovia. Other two players considered as options are Italian Giulio Sabbi who will part ways with Cucine Lube Banca Marche Civitanova and Bulgarian Boyan Yordanov from C.V.M. Tomis Constanţa, but Resovia already filled limit of foreign players…
Option 2 – to play with three outside hitters: It would mean that coach Andrzej Kowal will unburden Kurek in attack. Resovia currently have five outside hitters: Olieg Achrem, Aleksander Śliwka, Nikolay Penchev, Julien Lyneel and Thomas Jaeschke…
Option 3 – to move one outside hitter to opposite: The question is – which one? At the moment only one option seems as the best possible – Śliwka. The youngster had a good start of the season in Plusliga, but in the long run he won’t have a certain place in the line-up at his nominal position. At the start of the season, Lyneel and Jaeschke had health problems, so the door to Śliwka were opened. But it will be different when those two reach full strength.
