Sport.pl writes that there might be some major changes in the PlusLiga from 2016/17 season. This source reveals the names of three clubs that want to join the top division – GKS Katowice, Espadon Szczecin and Krispol Września!

The first condition they must fulfil is to finish among the top 4 teams in the 2nd division. So far, Katowice lead the race, Szczecin are at the 3rd spot, while Września are holding the 5th place.

Still, the must meet many other conditions in order to advance to the PlusLiga. For example, back in 2014, Campera Wyszków did not proceed to PlusLiga, despite being the first placed team in the second division… The reason was that the club’s hall did not meet requirements of the PlusLiga.

If all three teams fulfill all conditions and advance to the PlusLiga, then one team from the current composition will be relegated, while the next season will then have 16 teams instead of 14.

It also means more games in the season…
