Ferdinando De Giorgi, new head coach of the Polish Men’s National Team, reminded volleyball fans of his days as a setter. Italian, who took gold medal in the FIVB World Championship three times and in the CEV European Championship one time, showed he’s still got it. Salvador Hidalgo, Cuban star from PlusLiga team Jastrzębski Węgiel, had the honor to spike the ball set by De Giorgi.
“Space Jam” game was held for the Polish non-governmental charity organization in Poland called Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) who supports health care in Poland by purchasing medical equipment for Polish hospitals and clinics.
