A 28-year-old opposite admitted that the way Poland played EuroVolley 2017 was mediocre and that even in the games which they won they did not show a good display. Thus, the early elimination from the tournament. But, Konarski thinks da Poland should keep the current head coach.

„’Fefe’ came and slightly refreshed this team. For example, we do not have any of the 2014 world champions in the middle blocker position. We have an experienced group of people, but who is not at an advanced age. There is the base for the future. I think that letting go the coach would not make sense. Suppose that we let go ’Fefe’ and take – I do not even know who at this moment – and what? Will he make new players from us? It certainly is not the way to go. The coach will analyze the European Championship and will draw conclusions,“ Konarski stood in defense of Poland’s head coach Ferdinando De Giorgi after the debacle in the EuroVolley.
