This was the first battle of last year’s finalists and black and whites showed they intend to take away title from Crvena zvezda this season. But, they will just have to give 100 percent of themselves like in this match.
First set was really something special. After many turnarounds, Partizan had first set ball, but missed it, like five others after that. Then Zvezda took the lead, had two set balls… Again nothing. Finally, away team made another turnaround and used their seventh set ball!
In second set, Partizan was mostly in lead. Zvezda threatened when came close at 23:21, however black and whites managed to collect 25 points before rivals.
With two sets ahead and psychological advantage, Partizan was able to finish the job. Although Zvezda had significant lead at the beginning (8-2). Away squad equalized on 23-23, then took the lead and put a curtain on this eternal derby.
