After achieving their respective triumphs in the semifinals, Bolívar and Sesi have progressed to a gold medal decider in the 2020 Copa Libertadores de Voleibol.
In the first semifinal, the current champions of the competition but also of Argentina, Bolívar, downed national league rivals Obras de San Juan by a 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-20). Cuban duo from the winning side highlighted the match. Jesús Herrera scored 17 points, while Osniel Melgarejo made a 75% attack (12/16).
In the other semifinal, which was all-Brazilian, Sesi were twice a set down against Sesc RJ but managed to reach the final after 30-minute tie-break that went deep into overtime. The encounter lasted for 2 and a half hours overall. Alan Souza top-scored for the São Paulo team with 25 points, while Murilo Endres made 79% reception (33 digs, 33% excellent).
