Beşiktaş’s financial problems and the fact that they have a lot of youth team members in the squad as well as newcomers mostly from clubs that competed in divisions lower than the top division are widely known in Turkey. Still, they kind of embarrassed themselves in Round 2 of the 2020/21 Misli.com Sultanlar Ligi regular season. Eczacıbaşı VitrA beat them in straight sets and Beşiktaş couldn’t make it to double digits in either of them: 3-0 (25-7, 25-9, 25-9)!

In a duel of the two teams that were promoted to the top division for this season, Kuzeyboru defeated Çan Gençlik Kale Spor in four sets. VakıfBank and PTT achieved straight-set wins.
