Ziraat Bankkart, the 2020/21 Turkish Men’s Volleyball Championship winners, hired a new head coach.

The current Efeler Ligi champions Ziraat reached an agreement with Italian expert Roberto Santilli to command them next season.

The news of changing a head coach of the Ankara side came as a surprise given a successful season it had with Giampaolo Medei at the helm. However, Santilli’s compatriot refused to renew the contract with Ziraat for family reasons and returned to Italy to spend more time with his wife.

As for the 56-year-old Santilli, he arrived in Ziraat from South Korea, where he led the Incheon Korean Air Jumbos to the V-League title.
