The Turkish Volleyball Federation has parted ways with Cedric Enard, relieving him of his duties as the head coach of the men’s national volleyball team. The decision, which was not accompanied by an official statement from the federation, was quietly reported by Turkish media. The federation only released the roster and staff members for the ongoing training camp in preparation for the upcoming EuroVolley qualifications. Enard’s departure comes after a series of disappointing performances in this year’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL), where the Turkish team secured only one win in twelve matches, finishing last.
Enard, who took over in February 2024, replacing Italian coach Alberto Giuliani, faced challenges from the start. Under his leadership, the team failed to make significant progress, leading to his early departure. Umut Cakir, Enard’s assistant and current coach of Galatasaray Istanbul, will step in as the new head coach. This change marks the fourth coaching shift for the Turkish men’s team in the past two years.
