CEV adds Development Department to its portfolio

Luxembourg, February 10, 2012. As per recommendation of the FIVB, the CEV recently proceeded to the establishment of a Development Department at its headquarters in order to support and monitor the various projects worked out by the 55 affiliated National Federations in cooperation with their respective political and economic authorities.

Jonas Personeni of Switzerland will be responsible for all development activities thereby supporting also the CEV Board of Administration in evaluating the feasibility, consistence and efficiency of the projects and files submitted by the National Federations.

 

With the CEV Board of Administration having recently agreed upon a long-term strategy for the development of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, the CEV Development Department will be responsible also for supervising the management of the development centers that are likely to be opened across Europe in the near future. 

Mr. Personeni is already well-known in the Volleyball family being a very successful and respected Beach Volleyball referee who, after joining the Beijing Olympics in 2008, was recently nominated by the FIVB also for the London Olympic Games coming up later this summer.
