A 36-year-old Murilo, two-time FIVB World Championship and six-time FIVB World League winner with the Brazilian National Team, played as libero for the first time in his professional career.

A long-expected debut of a player who collected so many medals as an outside hitter in the new role has occurred last night in the Brazilian Superliga encounter between his team Sesi-SP and Sesc-RJ. Murilo was in the line-up, playing all four sets in Sesi’s win.

Recall that Murilo was recently cleared of doping charges.
