Angelo Lorenzetti, a highly accomplished volleyball coach and recent Italian champion with Trento, has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Sir Safety Susa Perugia. With an impressive track record and extensive experience in the sport, Lorenzetti brings a wealth of volleyball knowledge and expertise to his new role.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Lorenzetti remarked, “The first feeling? First and foremost, gratitude because this opportunity came at a time when I thought I would be inactive for a year.” He eagerly anticipates working with a highly competitive group of players and is excited to get to know his new team. Having previously seen Perugia as a formidable opponent, Lorenzetti is eager to take on the challenge of coaching them.
When asked about his vision for Perugia, Lorenzetti emphasized his desire for the team to be aggressive and constantly attack their opponents. He envisions a team that is present in every moment, never taking anything for granted against any opponent. With fewer competitions to contend with, the team will strive for excellence from the outset, aiming to reach as many finals as possible.

Having recently clinched the Italian championship title with Trento, Lorenzetti’s arrival at Perugia is highly anticipated. His remarkable career spans over 30 years, starting with the youth teams of Fano in 1988 and encompassing stints with various top-tier teams such as Padova, Modena, Verona, Piacenza, and Trento. He has also contributed to the development of Italian men’s pre-junior and junior national teams.
Lorenzetti’s accolades include four Italian Championships, two Italian Cups, three Italian Super Cups, one Club World Championship, one CEV Cup, and one Italian A2 Cup. He has been recognized as the Best Superlega Coach on four occasions, in 2008, 2009, 2016, and 2017.
