Since it was clear that the captain of Tours, the Czech David Konečný, will be absent for at least a month, French title holders hired his replacement – Giulio Sabbi!
The Italian opposite hitter came to Tours as the champion of China with Shanghai and signed the contract until the end of the season as a ’medical joker’.
The bronze medalist from the last European Championship with Italy was one of three options of Tours besides the Czech Jan Štokr and another Italian, Michał Łasko.
Sabbi will be at disposal of coach of Tours, Vital Heynen, already for the ’classic’ of the French league, against Paris Volley, on Saturday, March 19.
