Paris Volley pulled off an 3-2 victory over league leaders Tourcoing-Lille Métropole on Friday night, in opening game of Marmara SpikeLigue Round 16. The marathon match at Pierre-Charpy Hall kept fans on the edge of their seats for nearly three hours, ending with set scores of 25-23, 20-25, 27-25, 16-25, and 15-12.
Slovenian opposite Nik Mujanovic shined for Paris with 24 points, while Tourcoing’s Pablo Kukartsev led all scorers with 25.
This win, Paris Volley’s seventh of the season, bumps them up to seventh place in the standings. Tourcoing holds on to first but now feels the heat from Chaumont and Montpellier, who have matches lined up this weekend.
