„The Italian volleyball is still an amateur sport by its form, therefore the sponsors who invest in a team remain very tied to the territory, closely linked to the region or city. In Italy, there is the most beautiful championship in the world, the strongest teams, the gymnasiums always filled with amazing fans, but all this does not have the image that it deserves. Logically we are overshadowed by football, but then, we should take as an example the structure of football: not only to improve a corporate structure, not only to become a professional sport but also and above all to talk volleyball whenever there is a match in the calendar. And not just every 4 years for the Olympics,“ Zaytsev gave the interview for the „Red Bull“ website.
„The professionalism requires a number of major investments. The entrepreneurs who invest in volleyball are fans, they are really passionate about this sport and live in the province, in small towns, because they prefer to have a feedback in their own territory. We should attract the big business of big cities who are interested to invest in volleyball because potentially we are just behind football. We have to bring volleyball to the TV: the TV, however, is a big spotlight, a platform that guarantees quality service and expands the audience who watches volleyball.
