According to our sources, FIVB might bring out some brand new rewards for the World League winners. Apart from prize money and the prestigious trophy, from now on the winner of the World League might qualify for the next major volleyball tournament!
Therefore, the winner of the World League 2016 might qualify for the Grand Champions Cup 2017;
The winner of the World League 2017 might qualify for the World Championship 2018;
The winner of the World League 2018 might qualify for the World Cup 2019;
And finally, the winner of the World League 2019 might qualify for the Olympic Games 2020!
FIVB is also considering other option, to avoid different approach of teams to these four World Leagues. In that other option, the national team with the most points combined in World League 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 might qualify for the Olympic Games 2020.
